Inclusion Support for Community Groups, Small Charities, and Grassroots Organisations

Neurodivergent people belong in all sections of our society: that's why we offer support across the community

Neurodivergent people should be able to take part fully in community life — in clubs, groups, activities, and local organisations — not only in education and employment.

At wonder neurodiversity, we offer neuro-affirming inclusion support for community groups, charities, and grassroots organisations who want to be welcoming and accessible in ways that are realistic, proportionate, and sustainable.

We Understand Community Pressures

We know that most community groups are:

  • Led by volunteers
  • Operating with limited time, funding, and capacity
  • Balancing inclusion alongside safeguarding, governance, and delivery pressures

Our work is informed by over 20 years of community development experience, alongside extensive teaching and education work, and formal qualifications in sustainable community development.

This means we approach inclusion with a clear understanding of how community groups actually operate, and what is achievable in practice.

What we offer

We provide practical inclusion and compliance training that supports confidence rather than adding pressure.

This includes:

Online or in-person inclusion training (available soon)

Clear, accessible guidance on legal and ethical responsibilities

Support to create inclusive environments, communication, and expectations

Training grounded in neuro-affirming practice, not deficit-based or behaviourist models

Our aim is to support groups to make changes that are useful, manageable, and meaningful.

Working alongside your group

We are also open to working directly with community groups to strengthen and develop inclusive practice over time.

This might include:

  • Talking through what’s already working well
  • Identifying small, low-cost changes that improve access
  • Reviewing policies, activities, or communication if helpful
  • Supporting volunteers and leaders to feel more confident and consistent

We do not come in with checklists or judgement. We work with you, at a pace that fits your group.

Subsidised Training

As a Community Interest Company, we are committed to making inclusion support accessible.

Where possible, we offer subsidised training for small community groups, so that limited budgets do not prevent neurodivergent people from being included in community life.

Why this matters

Community groups are often where people find belonging, purpose, and connection. Inclusive practice in these spaces can reduce isolation and improve wellbeing for neurodivergent people and their families.

Supporting inclusion at a community level strengthens the whole community.

If you’re part of a community group and would like to make your space more inclusive, we’d be happy to talk.
You don’t need to have a fully formed plan — we can start by exploring what feels possible for your group.
